Webpage Tech Support

The following page features topics regarding the usage of this site.  If you have a question, try to see if your question is answered below.

If not, email the Troop Webmaster or get live help at the bottom of this page.

Why didn't I get an email with my new password?

Below are three attempts on how to get your password to log in.

••••• Attempt 1:  Spam Filter •••••

Oftentimes, computer-generated emails (such as the password email) are automatically blocked by your email provider in order to reduce spam.  Here is what you want to do:

  1. Log into your online email inbox.  For example, if you use GCI, do not open the mail client (Microsoft Outlook, Mac Mail, etc.), you want to log onto the internet site, such as www.gci.net.
  2. Once you are properly logged in, check your "Spam" or "Junk" mailboxes.  Once you find the email (from troop26webpage@gmail.com), open the message.
  3. Once you open it, you will be be able to see all or just the text in the message.  Here is where your temporary password is stored.
  4. Somewhere on the page, it will probably have a link that reads "Not Junk," "Safe Sender," or something similar.  You want to select this option in order to prevent ScoutLander emails from being quarantined on the server.

••••• Attempt 2:  Resend Password •••••

This might work, although if ScoutLander emails are still being blocked, this will just be repetitive.  Be sure to try Attempt 1 first.

  1. Log on to the Troop 26 Webpage.
  2. At the top, you will see "Member Login."  Follow this link.
  3. Enter the email address that you received this email with.
  4. Press "Forgot Password."
  5. Check your email inbox for the confirmation of your password.

•••••  Attempt 3:  Help! •••••

Email the Webmaster at troop26webpage@gmail.com.

Note:  The Site Admin (Webmaster) cannot see any passwords, temporary or not.  However, the passwords can be reset to an automated password, or a custom one.  You can supply me with a "dummy password," which would allow you to log in and change your password.

How to Change Your Password

Once you are logged into the ScoutLander, you may want to change your password into a more desirable and easy-to-remember password.  Here are the easy steps on how to do so.

   1.     Log in to the ScoutLander system.

   2.     On the left hand navigation bar, click "My Profile."  Here is where you can update all of your personal information.

   3.     Click "Edit Profile" on the top right hand side of the page.

   4.     Change your password, and confirm it in the next field.

   5.     Press save on the bottom right of the page.

Adding Scouts to your Patrol

The Patrol Leaders of Patrols that have recently been added to the Troop will be asked to enter their scouts into the ScoutLander Database.  Here are the steps on how to "Batch Add Scouts," or to add a bunch of Scout at a time.

The following video demonstrates the steps.
