Cub Scout Pack 77
College Heights Christian Church

Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting.  Parents, leaders and organizations work together to achieve the 10 Purposes of Cub Scouting:  Character Development; Spiritual Growth; Good Citizenship; Sportsmanship & Fitness; Family Understanding; Respectful Relationships; Personal Achievement; Friendly Service; Fun & Adventure; Preparation for Boy Scouts.

For over 20 years College Heights Christian Church has held a close relationship with Scouting.  With a faith-centered program, the Boy Scout oath emphasizes their commitment:

On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

Scouting is about building character of boys and young men.  The program nurtures the progression of a near fully dependent 1st-grade Tiger Cub Scout into a capable and compassionate high-school aged Boy Scout with a spirit of selfless service.  Boys can start the scouting program at any age from 6 to 17 years.  Cub Scouts is for 1st grade through 3rd grade - Tiger cub, Wolf scout, and Bear scout.  These initial stages of scouting involve and require family participation as a means to reinforce the character traits, enhance the learning elements of the program and to build a foundation for trust, respect and encouragement through the boy’s family.  After completing the Bear scout requirements, Cub Scouts begin their Webelos program which lasts through 5th grade and serves as an introduction into Boy Scouts.

College Heights Christian Church sponsors both Boy Scout Troop 77, and Cub Scout Pack 77 which serve the youth from the neighboring communities. The boys and their leaders meet regularly on Thursday evenings at 7:00PM at the church. Our get-togethers last typically an hour, with structured activities to support the 10 Purposes which include games and skits or songs to build fellowship.  While we are most active during the school year, we do continue through the summer months with a more relaxed schedule of activities.
