Welcome to Troop 275!

Welcome to Troop 275’s ScoutLander website!

Greetings.  We want to personally take this opportunity to welcome you to visit us and explore Troop 275.   We are one of many Troops that offer your son (or daughter if she is interested in Venture Scouting!) a place to join other young adults in the journey of the “scouting spirit” and we thank you for considering us in this decision.

Kennewick Troop 275 is affiliated with the Blue Mountain Council, Columbia River District of Boys Scouts of America.  Established in 1993, we take pride in being a scout led, adult guided troop.  Scouts are given opportunities to develop leadership, wilderness and day-to-day living skills necessary to help make them successful adults.  Our vision is to use leadership, adventure and achievement in preparing our Scouts for life and to have fun while doing so!  Scouts make decisions for running the troop including decisions about camp destinations, meeting agendas, fundraising, and service to our community.  Adult leaders guide and mentor when appropriate and ensure all activities are managed in a safe and healthy environment.  At present, Troop 275 has about 30 scouts, organized into five patrols.  Each year, approximately 5-8 new scouts join and since establishment in 1993, 47 scouts have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  The Troop holds weekly troop meetings on Mondays at 7PM, at the Parish of the Holy Spirit Community Center located at 7409 W. Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick.  Visitors are always welcome; please come and join us anytime at a meeting or on one of our outings.

It is important to feel comfortable in the leadership, culture and atmosphere of the Troop you join and we encourage you to take your time, ask questions and visit other troops as well to see what is available and get “the right fit”.  At Troop 275 we try to balance a focus on advancement and skills learning with an broad spectrum of camping and Scout-oriented activities.  Feel free to contact Wes or I at any time with any question, including specifics of our plans for the coming year activities and events.  On behalf of the talented and dedicated team of scouts, leaders and parents here at Troop 275, again “welcome” and we look forward to meeting you in person!

            Most sincerely,

Wes Ashcraft,                                            Bryan Dunlap
