Richard D. Reiber

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, Troop 94 lost one of its founding members. Richard Reiber passed away after a long illness.

From the summer of 1943 through the spring of 1944, dedicated men from Shiloh formed Troop 94 and registered 15 boys.

Richard Reiber was among those first 15 boys. For the past sixty-eight years, Mr. Reiber continued his role as a member of the Troop following his military service during the Korean War. Mr. Reiber served as both Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster throughout many of those years.

Richard Reiber leaves a tremendous legacy behind him as Troop 94 continues to thrive in Shiloh leading hundreds of young boys to become men who follow the Scout Oath and Law. We are saddened by his passing.

For those who do not know what the symbol of the circle with a dot in the middle, it is a trail sign left by hikers to indicate that they have "gone home." Lord Baden-Powell's headstone has that symbol. I thought it was fitting to add it to their memorial statement.
